Selecting child care for your child can be a mind boggling and difficult decision, and one that should not be made lightly. Our goal here is to assist families in the Nanuet School District in obtaining all the information they need to make an educated decision about quality care for their children. The Nanuet Family Resource Centers are currently members of and collaborate with The Child Care Resources of Rockland. The staff at The Nanuet Family Resource Centers attends periodic informational seminars at the Child Care Resources of Rockland and the Schools of the 21st Century offices, to insure we are kept current on the ever-changing information about affordable quality care for our children.

We are currently learning about a new database available through The Child Care Resources of Rockland that is linked to the Department of Social Services (DSS). This database is a valuable tool because we now can have updated information about childcare providers in our area. For example if a particular provider be it an individual or a business, is called into question with the DSS, their name is placed on a "do not refer" list until the matter is cleared up. The database is updated daily, so we know the information is current and up to date. This is one of the reasons we recommend only using a childcare providers who is registered with the Child Care Resources of Rockland.
